Optical Parametric Oscillation with Ultra-Low Power Threshold in a Dimer of Active-Passive Cavities

Optical parametric oscillation can convert the input laser into a couple of coherent optical output with signal and idler frequencies. It is an important method for realization broadband middle infrared tunable lasers. The process depends on ultra-fast non-linear response matter to light certain pump power. Therefore, reducing threshold improving energy conversion efficiency are great significance study optics. In this paper, we construct dimer system that couples passive resonator active resonator. Based system, ultra-low generation proposed. By coupling gain mode, effect effectively enhanced, power reduced half when there no gain, increased. We believe research provides feasible low-threshold easy-to-integrate source.
